A Thanksgiving Blessing

Words cannot even express the thank-fulness we feel this
Thanksgiving. My Father-in-Law's cancer has been getting the best of him lately - except today. Just yesterday it took a half an hour just to help him to the bathroom. He would take a step and slip into another world and forget that he was in the process of walking. My husband would have to cheer him on and remind him to put one foot in front of the other. He also said at one point, "I know someone in our family is very sick. That's why everyone is here." When he was told it was him, it just didn't register.

Today now, he has been sitting up in the chair, eating his meals, and actually smiling and having brief conversations with us. We feel so blessed for this little reprieve! What a treasure this day will be!

Taste and see that the Lord is good. His mercies are new every morning!
